Overhead lines

The ZikOS platform is a simple and intuitive tool for performing comprehensive analyzes of overhead line operating conditions, available from a web browser – wherever you are.

Regardless of whether you are designing entire overhead lines or modernizing a single span, calculating the mechanics of line cables and creating a line profile are essential activities. ZikOS software comes to the rescue, allowing you to perform such analyzes according to the latest standards – both for individual spans and entire extraction sections, also taking into account high-temperature cables. The software also allows you to analyze the distribution of the electromagnetic field around the line.

The ZikOS platform also provides computational tools for determining the working load (CIGRE) and dynamic load (statistical analysis based on collected data). A separate issue in the design of overhead lines is the calculation of short-circuit load capacity in terms of the selection of lightning cables, as well as shock protection and modeling of earthing electrodes around supporting structures. ZikOS software also comes to the rescue here.

As part of special dedicated solutions, we can also offer our clients the option of importing and analyzing data based on a point cloud (obtained, for example, during line inspection flights).

ELPATOR is a company dealing in the construction, reconstruction and renovation of power facilities. Employees have over 20 years of experience working on high-voltage lines and stations in Poland and abroad. The main contractors are PGE Dystrybucja S.A. and PSE Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. ELPATOR is one of the first users of the ZikOS computing platform. Originally, this tool was used in the area of short-circuit calculations and electric shock protection of overhead lines. Currently, the scope of use of the tool has also been expanded to include calculations of line cable mechanics and line profiles.
